Councillor/Employee Relations Protocol

There was submitted a report dated 12 April 2005 by the Chief Executive submitting for approval a Councillor/Employee Relations Protocol and asking that the Committee recommend agreement of the protocol to the Council.

Decided:  that the Councillor/Employee Relations Protocol as amended at paragraph 10.3 be approved and circulated for implementation.

Arrangements for Surgeries

There was further discussion on the conventions to be followed in this area of activity arising from discussion of the minute of the Standards Committee (Minute Reference 16/12/2004, para 897) at the Council meeting on 24 February 2005 (Minute Reference 24/02/2005, para 173) when it had been agreed that the item be placed on the agenda of the next Standards Committee meeting for further discussion and clarification.

Decided:  that the minute be noted.

Local Authority/MP/MSP Protocol

Decided:  arising from discussion of the preceding item, the Committee requested that the guidance/protocol to be used by MPs and MSPs regarding matters within the competence of a local authority be submitted for discussion as soon as possible.
