The following paragraphs are submitted for information only, having been dealt with under the powers delegated to the Sub-Committee.

It was agreed in terms of Section 50(A)(4) of the Local Government (Scotland) Act 1973 as amended, that the public and press be excluded from the meeting for the following item on the grounds that the business involved the likely disclosure of exempt information as defined in paragraph 1 of Part I of Schedule 7(A) of the Act.

There were submitted copies of applications received from 17 candidates for the post of Head of Finance and Administration, Social Work & Housing Services.

Decided:  unanimously to call a short-leet of the following five candidates for interview by the Sub-Committee on Monday 13 March 2000 at 9.15 am and thereafter make an appointment:-

1.  Euan Couperwhite, East Ayrshire Council

2.  Stuart Fair, Renfrewshire Council

3.  Steve Murray, East Dunbartonshire Council

4.  Colin Struthers, Inverclyde Council

5.  Caroline Whyteside, North Lanarkshire Council
