Present:  Councillors  Blair,  Campbell,  Hunter, McCormick, McGhee  and

Morrison (M).

 

 

Chair:  Councillor McGhee  presided.

 

 

In attendance:  Depute Chief Executive, Miss M McKnight (for Director of Legal & Support Services), Head of Planning Services and Mr E McCarron (for Head of Transportation & Roads Service).

The following paragraphs are submitted for information only, having been dealt with under the powers delegated to the Sub-Committee.

PLANNING APPLICATIONS

There were submitted reports by the Head of Planning Services on the following applications which were submitted, together with letters of objection and support where submitted, and dealt with as follows:-

    

 

(a)

Residential Development to form 18 flats:

Clyde Lower Reaches Club, Nelson Street, Greenock (IC/00/235)

 

 

The report recommended that planning permission be granted subject to a number of conditions.

 

 

Decided:  that consideration of the application be continued for further discussions on car parking provision with the applicants for report to a future meeting.

 

(b)

Proposed Redevelopment to form 8 Flats:

49 Brougham Street, Greenock (IC/00/236)

 

 

Decided: that planning permission be granted subject to the following conditions:-

(1)  that the 10 car parking spaces shall be formed prior to the occupation of the first refurbished flat, in the interests of road safety;

 

 

(2) that details of  the proposed bin storage arrangements shall be submitted to and approved in writing by the Head of Planning Services prior to work commencing, to ensure that the bin storage area is appropriately located; and

 

 

(3)  that a revised site plan, incorporating the provision of 'passing places' within the site, shall be submitted to and approved by the Head of Planning Services in consultation with the Head of Transportation & Roads Service, prior to work commencing with the approved plan to be implemented prior to the occupation of the first  refurbished flat, in the interests of road safety.

 

(c)

Amendment to Planning Permission IC/99/67 for Variation to Elevational Detail

and Addition of Flue Outlets and Boundary Walls:

Alt-na-Craig, Lyle Road, Greenock (IC/00/285)

 

 

Decided:  that planning permission be granted.

 

(d)

Extension to West Car Park into Existing Contractors Compound:

Earnhill Road, Larkfield Industrial Estate, Greenock (IC/00/296)

 

 

Decided:  that planning permission be granted subject to the  condition that details of the number and design of additional lights to be installed shall be submitted to and approved in writing by the Head of Planning Services, prior to work commencing on site, in the interest of visual amenity.
