Councillor
Nimmo referred to the fact that this would be the last meeting of the Panel
prior to the Local Government Elections on 3 May 2007 and on behalf of the
Panel he conveyed his thanks to the Council officials and the Police for
their assistance in carrying out the Panel’s duties. |
|
|
|
|
|
The following paragraphs are submitted for
information only, having been dealt with under the powers delegated to the
Panel. |

Application for Late Hours Catering
Licence: Kwok Long Ke |

|
|
|
There was
submitted a report by the Head of Legal and Administration on an application
for a Late Hours Catering Licence with additional hours by Kwok Long Ke, 122B
West Blackhall Street, Greenock to allow the operation of a takeaway facility
to be known as Wing Wah at 122A West
Blackhall Street, Greenock. The Panel
heard Kwok Long Ke. |

Decided:
that the
application be granted only for the hours of operation in the existing
licence viz: - Sundays to
Thursdays 11 pm to 12.30 am Fridays
and Saturdays 11 pm to 1.30 am |
|
|
|
|
|
It was agreed in terms of
Section 50(A)(4) of the Local Government (Scotland) Act 1973 as amended that
the public and press be excluded from the meeting during consideration of the
following items on the grounds that the business involved the likely
disclosure of exempt information as defined in Paragraph 6 of Part I of
Schedule 7(A) of the Act. |

Request for Suspension of
Taxi Driver’s Licence: Stephen Houston |

|
|
|
There was submitted a report by the Head of Legal and Administration
requesting that the licence granted to Mr Houston be suspended on the grounds
that he was no longer a fit and proper person to hold a Taxi Driver’s Licence
by virtue of the conduct described in the report. |
|
|
On 21
March 2007 the Panel had decided to continue the matter due to the
circumstance of Mr Houston having had a family bereavement. The Panel heard Mr Houston. |
|
|
Decided:
that the licence
not be suspended but the applicant be warned as to his future conduct. |
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|

Driver’s Licence: Stephen Donald |

|
|
Mr Douglas advised the Panel that Mr Donald had withdrawn his
application. |

Application for Second Hand
Dealer’s Licence: Jonathan Ross Nelson |

|
|
|
|
There was submitted a report by the Head of Legal and Administration
on an application for a Second Hand Dealer’s Licence by Jonathan Ross Nelson
following an objection by the Chief Constable on the grounds that he was not
a fit and proper person to hold such a licence by virtue of his previous
convictions. |

|
Decided: that the application be refused. |
