Application for Street Trader’s Licence

Councillors Moran and McCormick declared a non-financial interest and left the meeting at 3.30pm.

 

 

There was submitted a report by the Head of Legal and Administration on an application for a street trader’s licence by Mr Stephen Gavin following an objection by the Head of Environmental Services (Roads) on the grounds that the business would cause disruption and congestion in Drumfrochar Road to the detriment of road safety.

 

 

Mr Hartley on behalf of Environmental Services (Roads) and Mr Gavin were both present at the meeting.

 

 

Decided: that the application be granted.

 

 

 

 

 

Councillors Moran and McCormick returned to the meeting at 3.35pm.

Application for Late Hours Catering Licence

Mei Lee’s Takeaway, 81 Shore Street, Gourock

There was submitted a report by the Head of Legal and Administration on an application for a late hours catering licence by Mrs Man Tai Kui Lee, 5 Castle Gardens, Gourock to allow the operation of a takeaway facility to be known as Mei Lee’s Takeaway at 81 Shore Street, Gourock following an objection by Mr F McEleny of 80 Shore Street, Gourock. The Panel heard Ms J Melrose of Lyons Laing on behalf of Mr McEleny who advised that the objection was withdrawn.

 

 

Decided: that the application be granted with the existing hours.

Civic Government (Scotland) Act 1982

Conditions Attaching to Street Trader’s Licences

There was submitted a report by the Head of Legal and Administration on the introduction of a condition prohibiting the operation of street traders in the vicinity of schools in response to the remit from the meeting of the Panel on 13 December 2006 (para 906).

 

 

Decided: that the proposed condition be added to street trader’s licences under the Civic Government (Scotland) Act 1982 as a new Council policy with effect from the date of the meeting, subject to the right of an individual applicant to a hearing on his request.

 

 

 

 

 

It was agreed in terms of Section 50(A)(4) of the Local Government (Scotland) Act 1973 as amended that the public and press be excluded from the meeting during consideration of the following items of business on the grounds that the business involved the likely disclosure of exempt information as defined in Paragraph 6 of Part I of Schedule 7(A) of the Act.
