PERSONNEL (APPEALS AND APPLIED CONDITIONS

OF SERVICE) SUB-COMMITTEE

 

WEDNESDAY 8 APRIL 1998 - 2.00 pm

 

Present:-  Councillors Clocherty, O'Rourke, Jackson, Nimmo, Sir Simpson Stevenson, Welch and Hunter (for Rebecchi), Councillor Sir Simpson Stevenson, Convener, in the Chair.

 

In attendance:-  Mr A S Grant (for the Director of Central Services) and Mr C Fairley (for the Director of Personnel Services).

 

An apology for absence was intimated on behalf of Councillor Rebecchi.

 

The following paragraphs are submitted for information only, having been dealt with under the powers delegated to the Sub-Committee.

 

   400      RESOLUTION:  EXCLUSION OF PUBLIC AND PRESS                                                                   400

 

On the motion of the Convener it was agreed unanimously that, in terms of Section 50(A)(4) of the Local Government (Scotland) Act 1973 as amended, the public and press be excluded from the meeting during consideration of the undernoted item of business on the grounds that consideration of the item involved the likely disclosure of exempt information as defined in paragraph 1 of Part I of Schedule 7(A) of the Act.

 

   401      APPEAL AGAINST DISCIPLINARY ACTION - EMPLOYEE IN CONTRACT                               401

              SERVICES DIVISION                                                                                                                                 

 

The Sub-Committee considered an appeal against disciplinary action on behalf of an employee in the Contract Services Division and decided that the appeal against disciplinary action be upheld in part, all as detailed in the Appendix.
