Taxi Fares Review

There was submitted a report dated 29 September 2005 by the Solicitor to the Council advising of the results of the statutory consultation exercise in respect of the taxi fares review 2005.

The Panel heard Mr Simpson on behalf of the Lower Clyde Taxi Owners Association in support of the Association’s letter submitted as part of the exercise.

The Panel adjourned at 3.37pm to consider the matter in private and resumed at 3.40pm.

 

 

Decided:  that it be remitted to the Solicitor to the Council to make the necessary arrangements to implement the new taxi fare scales as set out in Appendix 1 of the report taking effect from 13 November 2005 and completed the following Sunday 20 November 2005.

 

 

It was agreed in terms of Section 50(A)(4) of the Local Government (Scotland) Act 1973 as amended that the public and press be excluded from the meeting during consideration of the following item of business on the grounds that the business involved the likely disclosure of exempt information as defined in Paragraph 6 of Part I of Schedule 7(A) of the Act.

Application for Taxi Driver’s Licence: James Campbell

There was submitted a report dated 20 September 2005 by the Solicitor to the Council on an application for a taxi driver’s licence by James Campbell following a representation by the Chief Constable drawing attention to the applicant’s previous convictions.   The Panel heard Inspector Paul and Mr Campbell.

 

 

Decided:  that the application be granted.
