Application for Public Entertainment Licence:

Funworld Leisure Ltd, Units 1 & 2 Fort Matilda Estate, Greenock

There was submitted a report dated 26 May 2005 by the Director of Corporate Services on an application for a Public Entertainment Licence by Funworld Leisure Ltd in respect of premises at 1 & 2 Fort Matilda Estate, Greenock.  The Panel heard Mr McMillan, Agent on behalf of the applicants and from the Head of Planning Services and Mr Bruce with regard to the planning permission granted by the Council for the premises (IC/04/431, Minute Ref. 2/2/2005 para 133(g)).

 

 

The meeting was adjourned at 3.45pm to discuss the application in private and re-convened at 4.00pm.

 

 

Decided:  that the application for a Public Entertainment Licence be granted to operate a family indoor play centre with cafe and children’s parties between the hours of 9.30am and 9.00pm daily with the exception of Christmas Day and 1 and 2 January in each year subject to the Council’s standard conditions and a further condition that the licence shall not take effect until the later of two dates namely, (1) the date of written confirmation from the Head of Planning Services that the terms of the planning permission for the premises (IC/04/431) have been fully implemented and complied with and (2) the date upon which the period for making the appeal against the grant of the licence would elapse, the specific terms of the condition to be determined by the Head of Legal Services.

Temporary Public Entertainment Licence - Funworld Leisure Ltd, Units 1 & 2 Fort Matilda Estate, Eldon Street, Greenock

Arising from discussion of the foregoing item the Panel was asked to consider whether it would be prepared to use its powers to grant a Temporary Public Entertainment Licence for the premises.

 

 

Decided:  that the Panel grant delegated authority to the Head of Legal Services, in consultation with Councillors Gallacher, Nimmo and a Member of the Minority Groups to determine an application for a Temporary Public Entertainment Licence were an application to be submitted for the premises, on the Council’s standard conditions and subject to a suitable condition requiring satisfactory compliance with the terms of the planning permission prior to use of the premises as detailed in the previous decision.
