Application for Late hours Catering Licence

Saba, 6 Newton Street, Greenock

14

 

There was submitted a report dated 19 December 2003 by the Director of Legal and Support Services on an application for a late hours catering licence by Abdul Wahid to allow the operation of a take away facility at 6 Newton Street, Greenock between the hours of 11 pm and 12 midnight on Mondays to Thursdays and 11 pm and 1 am on Fridays and Saturdays.   Nine objections to the application had been received in response to the application.   The Panel heard Mr Black in support of his objection.

 

 

Decided:  that the application be refused.

 

 

It was agreed in terms of Section 50(A)(4) of the Local Government (Scotland) Act 1973 as amended that the public and press be excluded  from the meeting for the following items on the grounds that the business involved the likely disclosure of exempt information as defined in paragraph 6 of Part 1 of Schedule 7(A) of the Act.

Application for Taxi Driver's Licence - George Munn

There was submitted a report dated 18 December 2003 by the Director of Legal and Support Services on an application for a taxi driver's licence by George Munn following an objection by the Chief Constable that the applicant was not a fit and proper person to hold such a licence by virtue of his previous conviction.   The Panel heard Superintendent Gordon and Mr Munn.

 

 

Decided:  that the application be granted.

 

 

Councillor Tucker and McCormick left the meeting at this point.

Application for Taxi Driver's Licence - John Ross

16

 

There was submitted a report dated 18 December 2003 by the Director of Legal and Support Services on an application for a taxi driver's licence by John Ross following an objection by the Chief Constable that the applicant was not a fit and proper person to hold such a licence by virtue of his previous convictions.   The Panel heard Superintendent Gordon, Mr Gallacher, agent for the applicant and the applicant.

 

 

Decided:  that the application be refused.
