Application for Market Operator’s Licence: Audrey Fenton Events
924
There was submitted a report dated 27 November 2003 by the Director to Legal & Support
Services on an application for a Market Operator’s Licence by Audrey Fenton Events to
allow the operation of a market selling meat, game and vegetables to take place at Hunter
Place Car Park, Greenock on the third Saturday of each Month between 9 am and 4 pm.
The Panel heard Mr McCarron of Transportation & Roads Service with regard to the
comments lodged by his service.
Mr Douglas proposed that, were the Panel disposed to grant a licence, it be granted on
the same conditions as those applying to the market at Clyde Square and in addition, a
prohibition on two markets being held simultaneously in Clyde Square and Hunter Place
Car Park. Following discussion, Councillor McKenzie moved that the application be
granted from 1 January 2004 to 30 November 2004. As an amendment Councillor Forbes
moved that the application be granted from 10 December 2003 for the period of one year.
On a vote 2 Members voted for the amendment and 3 for the motion which was declared
carried.
Decided: that the application be granted from 1 January 2004 to 30 November 2004.
