Application for Street Trader's Licence:  Jean Ann Benson

There was submitted a report dated 29 October 2003 by the Director of Legal & Support Services on an application for a Street Trader's Licence by Jean Ann Benson to allow her to operate a snack bar at the War Memorial Car Park, Inverkip.  It was noted that Mrs Benson had applied for and been refused planning permission but had now appealed that decision and was awaiting a response.  The Panel heard Mrs Benson in support of her application and Councillor Forbes as Ward Councillor.

The meeting was adjourned at 3.10 pm to allow the Panel to consider the application in private.  The meeting was re-convened at 3.20 pm and the applicant and the public were re-admitted.

 

 

Decided:  that the application be refused.

 

 

It was agreed in terms of Section 50A(4) of the Local Government (Scotland) Act 1973 as amended that the public and press be excluded from the meeting during consideration of the following items of business on the grounds that the business involved the likely disclosure of exempt information as defined in paragraph 6 of Part I of Schedule 7A of the Act.

Application for Taxi Driver's Licence:  James McFadyen

Councillor Moran declared an interest in this item and left the meeting at this point.

 

 

There was submitted a report dated 29 October 2003 by the Director of Legal & Support Services on an application for a Taxi Driver's Licence by James McFadyen following an objection by the Chief Constable that the applicant was not a fit and proper person to hold such a licence by virtue of his previous conviction.  The Panel heard Mr McFadyen in support of his application and Chief Inspector McGrath.

 

 

Decided:  that the application be granted.

Application for Taxi Driver's Licence:  George Burrows

Councillor Moran returned to the meeting at this point.

 

 

There was submitted a report dated 29 October 2003 by the Director of Legal & Support Services on an application for a Taxi Driver's Licence by George Burrows following an adverse medical report by the Council's Medical Adviser, Dr Sykes.

 

 

Decided:  that the application be refused.
