Taxi Licence - Frederick Hunter |

|
|
There was submitted a report dated 16 February 2001 by the Director of Legal & Support Services on an application for a Taxi Licence by Frederick Hunter who had omitted to make timeous application for his licence to be renewed before its expiry on 31 January 2001. The report advised that Mr Hunter’s licence was granted following the use of the emergency powers procedure under Standing Order 66(a). |

Application for Street Trader’s Licence - David Phillips |

|
There was submitted a report dated 21 March 2001 by the Director of Legal & Support Services on an application for a Street Trader’s Licence by David Phillips to allow him to operate a snack van at Cartsburn Street, Greenock. A letter of representation to the application had been received from Strathclyde Police and a letter of objection had been received from St Laurence’s Primary School. |

Decided: that the application be refused. |
|
|
|
It was agreed in terms of Section 50(A)(4) of the Local Government
(Scotland) Act 1973 as amended that the public and press be excluded from the
meeting during consideration of the following items of business on the
grounds that the business involved the likely disclosure of exempt information
as defined in paragraph 6 of Part I of Schedule 7(A) of the Act. |

Application for Taxi Driver’s Licence - Bernard Hurrell |

There was submitted a report dated 23 March 2001 by the Director of Legal & Support Services on an application for a Taxi Driver’s Licence by Bernard Hurrell following a report by the Council’s Medical Adviser. |

Decided: that the application be refused. |

Taxi Driver’s Licence - William John McNee |

There was submitted a report dated 15 March 2001 by the Director of Legal & Support Services on an application for a Taxi Driver’s Licence by William John McNee following an objection by the Chief Constable that the applicant was not a fit and proper person to hold such a licence by virtue of his previous convictions. Subsequently, the Chief Constable had advised that he had withdrawn his objection on the grounds that the convictions he had cited in his objection were spent. |

Decided: that
the withdrawal of the objection be noted and the application granted. |

The Panel heard Superintendent Gordon and Mr Hendry. |
