APPROVED on the motion of Councillor Robertson (Y) seconded by Councillor Welch subject to correction by way of clarification at paragraph 956 (Scottish Office Additional Resources 1998/99 - Maintenance Projects) by deleting from paragraph (b) "provided that these are no more than 10% greater than the budget estimates" and by substituting for the existing paragraph (c) the following:-

"(c)  That in order to utilise the full allocation of £340,000 and to achieve Best Value from that sum, any saving accruing from the lowest actual tenders received be calculated and where this produces an opportunity for further expenditure on the re-roofing works the scope of the re-roofing works will be re-assessed and extended."

1043      BOARD OF INVERCLYDE COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT TRUST:                                            1043

REPRESENTATION

 

SUBMITTED:  Report dated 29 September 1998 by the Director of Central Services on an invitation received from Inverclyde Community Development Trust to appoint three representatives to serve on the Board of the Trust, consideration of which had been continued from the meeting of the Council held on 27 August 1998 to allow the Council to seek increased representation.

DECIDED:  That Councillors Jackson and McGhee and a Member of the Minority Groups, to be nominated to the Director of Central Services at a later date, be appointed to serve as representatives on the Board of Inverclyde Community Development Trust.

 

1044      RESOLUTION:  EXCLUSION OF PUBLIC AND PRESS                                                                  1044

 

On the motion of the Provost it was agreed unanimously that, in terms of Section 50(A)(4) of the Local Government (Scotland) Act 1973 as amended, the public and press be excluded from the remainder of the meeting on the grounds that consideration of the remaining items involved the likely disclosure of exempt information as defined in the respective paragraphs of Part I of Schedule 7(A) of the Act, the nature of which is set out in the Minute of the Committee which considered each respective item in the Appendix to the Minute.
