The following paragraphs are submitted for information only, having been dealt with under the powers delegated to the Sub-Committee.

 

 

 

 

 

The Convener being of the opinion that an oral report by the Director of Community Services on a late application was relevant, competent and urgent moved its consideration to allow the Sub-Committee to determine at the earliest opportunity whether grant aid should be given.   This was unanimously agreed in terms of the relevant Standing Order.

Grants to Voluntary Organisations 2006/07

There was submitted a paper listing fourth round applications and the Director of Community Services asked the Sub-Committee to consider a late application by Gibshill Youth Club for funding to assist youth trips for 55 young persons.  The Director of Community Services also updated the Sub-Committee with regard to grants made under delegated powers.

(2)  that it be noted grants to voluntary organisations had been made under delegated powers as follows:-

Inverclyde Volunteering for Youth                                   £900 (in principle); and

 

 

(3)  that approval be given to the application made by  Second Chance Learning for 2006/07 on the basis of utilising the underspend in respect of the grant awarded to the organisation  in 2005/06 during the current year. 

 

 

 

 

 

It was agreed in terms of Section 50(A)(4) of the Local Government (Scotland) Act 1973 as amended, that the public and press be excluded from the meeting during consideration of the following application on the grounds that the business involved the likely disclosure of exempt information as defined in the paragraph 6 of Part I of Schedule 7(A) of the Act.

 

 

The Director of Community Services apprised Members of the particular circumstances regarding the grant to Inverclyde Volunteering for Youth agreed in principle under delegated  powers.
