Chair:  Councillor Hunter presided.

The following paragraphs are submitted for information only, having been dealt with under the powers delegated to the Sub-Committee. 

 

 

The convener being of the opinion that applications from The Laughing Stock Company, Inverclyde Sports Council, Wemyss Bay Community Woodland Association, Gibshill Residents Association and Strone Maukinhill Tenants Association should be considered at the earliest opportunity to permit the organisations to order their finances moved that the applications be added to the list to allow the Sub-Committee to determine whether grant aid should be given.  This was agreed in terms of the relevant Standing Order.

Synopsis of Information from Applicants

Prior to consideration of the applications, Councillor Robertson requested that a short synopsis of all applications be made available to members prior to the meetings and this was agreed.

 

 

Decided:  that a short synopsis of all applications for consideration be made available to members in advance of the meeting.

Grants to Voluntary Organisations 2004/05

There was submitted an information paper by the Director of Community Services on request for grant made by various voluntary organisations. 

 

With regard to the application from Woodhall Tenants Association it was noted that the Association had received an interim payment of £500 in March 2004 under the powers delegated to the Director of Community Services.

 

With regard to the application from Greenock Ladies Speakers Club, following discussion, Councillor Robertson moved that a grant of £50 be made.  As an amendment Councillor Hunter moved that a grant of £100 be made.  On a vote 2 Members voted for the motion and 2 Members voted for the amendment and there being equality of voting, the convener gave his casting vote to the amendment which was declared carried.
