Mental Wellbeing
‘Making Wellbeing Matter in Inverclyde’ is the HSCP's mental health improvement plan and as part of this, a number of training workshops are offered:
- safeTALK - a half-day session that provides people with the skills to recognise when someone may have thoughts of suicide, and to connect that person to someone with suicide intervention skills
- Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST) – a two-day workshop that offers practical help to enable caregivers to recognise and intervene to prevent the immediate risk of suicide
- Scottish Mental Health First Aid (SMHFA) – the mental health equivalent of supporting physical first aid
- ‘What’s the Harm?’ – A one-day workshop that aims to support people who use self-harm as a coping mechanism
In pre-5 nurseries, we deliver training for Early Years staff called Creative Confident Children Training, which is to promote the importance of emotional literacy.
Other mental Health Awareness Sessions can be delivered on a request basis.
