Renewal of Vows

This ceremony is for any married couple wishing to celebrate the renewal of their vows in a unique and personal ceremony tailored to meet your requirements.

Often these ceremonies are associated with a special wedding anniversary such as a tenth or twenty-fifth or maybe you were married abroad and would like to share your commitment to one another with family and friends, however the ceremony is just as appropriate for couples at any stage of their marriage.  It is sometimes particularly relevant to those who have been through a difficult period in their relationship but wish to celebrate their renewed commitment to each other.

What happens at the ceremony

The registrar will formally welcome everyone.  This may be followed by an exchange of vows, reflecting on where you have been and where you are going.  You may also make vows of your own to make the ceremony more personal.  Acknowledge any children or grandchildren of the marriage.  You may also choose to have your original bestman and bridesmaid involved.  Re-dedicate your wedding rings or perhaps you have special rings, such as eternity rings.  Cermony readings or enhancements such as lighting candles may be included allowing you to create a day to remember for your family and friends.

Where can your ceremony take place

The ceremony can be held at the Registration Office or at a venue agreed between the couple and the Registrar.  A Renewal of Vows Ceremony has no legal status and is not legally binding on those who participate.
