Most building works require a building warrant and verifiers, appointed by Scottish Ministers, are responsible for the independent checking of applications for building warrants. The Council is the sole verifier of building warrants in Inverclyde.

The links on this page provide information on the topics most frequently asked of the Building Standards team:  Do I Need a Building Warrant?; Applying for a Building Warrant; Starting Work and During Construction; Submitting a Completion Certificate; Works That Do Not Have a Building Warrant; and Dangerous Buildings.

Links are also provided to help you contact the Building Standards Team and other useful contacts, to see how the Building Standards Team performs and to access the Building Standards Register.
