Kerbside glass recycling

Almost 28 000 households have a black box to recycle clear and coloured glass bottles and jars.

Black boxes should be used to recycle all glass bottles and jars including:

  • sauce bottles
  • soft drinks bottles
  • condiment jars
  • wine bottles
  • sauce jars
  • baby food jars
  • beer bottles
  • medicine bottles
  • condiment jars

There is no need to remove remove labels or lids.

Please do put broken glass, window glass, tumblers or ovenproof dishes in your black box. These items should be disposed of carefully in your general waste bin.

Black boxes should be presented for collection on the kerbside by 7am every fortnight on the black bin collection day.
