Partnership working in Inverclyde is key to supporting young people into successful transitions. Here you will find an overview of the key partners currently working with MCMC .
MCMC work in partnership with schools, West College Scotland, Skills Development Scotland, Community Learning & Development, Dept Work Pensions (DWP).
MCMC work in partnership with all six mainstream and two non maistream secondary schools to support pupils Senior Phase from S4-S6. This support includes arranging placements for young people to explore the world of work before they leave school, advising guidance school re what options are available as part of a personal learning pathway (PLP) and working with young people to help them sustain their placements in college. Part of the support includes registering placements on WorkIt which is the system used to record all placements and make sure that the health & safety measures and parental permissions are in place before any young person goes on placement. We also make sure that any entitlements are in place e.g. lunch and travel.
Inverclyde Educational Psychology Service
MCMC work with education psychology within secondary schools to support young people who are struggling to engage or have barriers to overcome. We also work together to support young people educated outwith Inverclyde to ensure they get their entitlement to a senior phase.
MCMC work in partnership with Social Work services to support young people who are looked after at home or away from home. We also share data on the looked after status of Inverclyde's young people. CHCP are also part of our virtual school, they attend the meetings and help identify young people who are part of their service and the information is used to track the young people and offer support if they do not currently have a positive destination. MCMC work with Throughcare staff to support young people on Activity Agreements.
MCMC work in partnership with SDS in school and post school. In school we liaise with career advisors to track potential leavers and offer support for PLP's. Post school SDS manage referalls for Activity Agreements and work in partnership with MCMC who manage the Activity Agreement programme to support any young person who is currently taking part in an Activity Agreement. MCMC manage the data hub for Inverclyde and work in partnership with SDS to track young people and direct them to the correct support if they are not currently in a positive destination.
West College Scotland
MCMC work in partnership with West College Scotland to support young people in school and post school. In school the partnership covers young people attending college as part of their curriculum both on PLP's and as part of the consortium. We provide entitlements such as lunch, travel and personal protective equipment and feed back attendance to schools.
Community Learning & Development (CLD)
MCMC work in partnership with CLD to support young people in school and post school. In school MCMC seek support for young people who require additional support with literacy and numeracy, access to community courses and PLP placements.
DWP are part of our virtual school, they attend the meetings and help identify young people who are part of their service and the information is used to track the young people and offer support if they do not currently have a positive destination.
