Flooding grants available

Grants available for households and businesses affected by flooding

Funding has been provided by the Scottish Government for Inverclyde Council to support those who have been most affected by the recent severe flooding.  There are two grants available and these currently cover severe flooding events during the period from July 2015 up to 31st March 2016.

Flood affected properties grant - £1,500

Grant funding of £1,500 is available to each flood affected household, business, or community group (such as rugby clubs etc) or charitable organisation.  To qualify properties must have suffered inundation of water within their premises, properties where there has been inundation of the garden only are not eligible to apply.

Business compensation grant - £3,000

Grant funding of £3,000 is available and is intended to support businesses where trade has been severely disrupted.  Severe disruption could include closure for a number of days, loss of customers through disruption to production or loss of customers through disruption to access.  The grant is intended to support businesses in their recovery and is not intended to cover losses incurred which should have been covered by insurance.
